Coastal Bushcraft: Two Days Fishing & Camping
Description
In this video I spend four days by the coastline with a good friend, fishing, hunting, camping and practicing bushcraft skills utilising many of the natural resources in the area. I thought I would share some of the experience.
Thanks for watching.

hi guys smokey from MC ki bushcraft II and it's a good friend of mine this is in a geyser he's joined me on a bit of adventure right for about five days and we've sort of set off a beta like five o'clock and we're here on five o'clock yeah we've been walking for quite a while trying to get up into the core of this ravine by a little waterfall
we've lost our bearings and we've ended up walking through brambles and gulfs and Holly getting torn apart for quite a while and we've decided to settle cases there further to the coastline really in terms of where we're going to camp because primarily although we we might be doing some hunting more of an opportunist type of hunting roller down here it's going to be fishing is vision yeah yeah Ian's got an experienced fisherman as well so we're fishing for quite a few years empty much yeah ever since I was a kid we yeah yeah quite Johan so I should I'm pretty sure we'll have no problems getting fish but we're just going to gear up and move further down we've just been taking five minutes and we
we've been tracking for quite a long time they're just looking for that ideal location and this is pretty good actually
it's probably the driest area we found isn't it guys down at the proper bog angrily aground yeah clear ground dry ground straight path all the way down through all the hemlock just to some water fresh water going into the coastal obviously we can then check our lines really easily and this is a brilliant spot for pigeons roosting in this valley here that runs all the way up but quite a good location to pick things off in the morning you know if we hear them in the trees say find a good location and get well happy get camp set up for that
you know watching know how it use the back of a bug yeah too much use the play just done it that neaten life do you want to do it it's your fire all day I'll get ringing the sticks you want to just kind of um you'll have to scrape the coating off first okay as I say that spines not brilliant anymore but just coming just place the rod literally right on top of it and just drive down and try and stop before you get to just like make all in one try and keep the oxygen now a little shot a pigeon they're no good though I will see you later I have to invest it at a time in waiting for a while
the tides coming in pretty quick now we've set up two long lines with the ten hooks per line we've baited it with lugworm we spent the morning digging up some blow lugworms or some black plug one as well on that which is a pretty good bait that's pretty readily available on this Beach it means just finishing packing up the last of the night
so hopefully we'll have something we'll be out here about half 10:00 11:00 at night to see what we've caught a few books and maps and flamed we can have a bit of food to a laceration
we good
so my to half 11 hours though we've checked off checked our lights not as they get a turn 8 because you wanted it to be but he got fish really step back here we just put that back go straight right spicy just
got a couple of flame there as well which is part of one of the fish we were hoping to get really nice but fortunately no facts there we go we've got some food anyway so I'm going to get these prepared we're just more rigid shifts oh that smells amazing breakfast tea
know what
my bad at all is it lovely this is why spare clothes are a bit of a must when you come out sometimes we're just going to collect our lines absolutely beautiful day and suddenly ice-cold rains out of nowhere really heavy rain soaked through so we're just going to take refuge by the fire and get changed in the heads we grab our own place
About the Author
MCQBushcraft
I'm a UK based outdoorsman who started hunting and fishing with my friends when I was young.
Educating yourself about your surroundings and having the core skills to sustain yourself using your environment is a lost curriculum in the United Kingdom. We are well provided for, so well that "why do anything if somebody else will do it for you". This lifestyle has drastically disconnected people from having the knowledge and skills required to spend even one night in the woods and not get hungry.
I love being outdoors and have never lost the desire to learn and practice skills that I get a sense of natural connection from. Hunting hangs controversy in the minds of many, but in my eyes there is nothing more natural if you choose to eat meat. I appreciate that not everybody hunts in moderation though.
