200,000 Subscriber Giveaway Announcement
Description
Please note that this is not the Giveaway Entry video, this will follow on from this video when I have finished all of the crafts for the giveaway.
I have been busy in workshop over the last two weeks crafting some Bushcraft tools from leather, horn and antler to giveaway for my 200,000 subscriber giveaway. I have been on YouTube since late 2011 making videos about outdoor skills and I am honored that so many enjoy watching the videos I make.
Thank you to all who interact with me one here and support me in which ever way you do, it means a great deal and I hope you enjoy whats to come.
Mike

hi there guys this michael mcq bushcraft here welcome to another video on the channel this video is going to be a bit of a channel update and also a notification to you guys out there who watch the channel about something that's coming up very soon for those who follow and watch regularly you'll notice that I've reached 200,000 subscribers which is a tremendous achievement for me a channel about bushcraft skills and education really does exist on the fringes of society these days especially in the YouTube space and it can be a very challenging channel to run and grow and work on so I really appreciate everybody who watches and just want to offer my thanks to you for subscribing whether it be a recent subscriber or someone who's stuck with me right from the beginning thank you and I really appreciate all the support and be watching the videos YouTube isn't the only way I make a living that's really just to answer the questions of people out they wonder why my video is a fairly spaced bank maybe every seven to ten days I will make a video and that's because I run courses and I spend time in the workshop making things and selling them on my website to people who watch the channel also so I don't just make youtube videos just to just to answer that question to you but what I do I put a tremendous amount of work into them I have a lot in the pipeline coming up this year some that's already been filmed that are waiting editing things about high Tanning wild camping primitive shelter making lots of stuff is coming up so hopefully you'll enjoy that and there stay tuned but in this basket here I've been very busy the last two weeks making lots of things for the giveaway and I wanted to show you a few of the things that are in here just to give you the opportunity to stay tuned for the near future so you might get a chance of winning something and if I open this back up I'll give you a little bit of a sneak preview and here we go you'll probably recognize this you might have seen it used on a lot of different videos this is my ferrocerium rod
here it's a five inch by half inch extra-large ferrocerium rod with a belt loop on it it has a locking lace as well with a bead on a red deer antler just at the top there then you just wear it on your belt you slot it in and then lock it in place just like that I've had this big years and I've been using it for a very very long time and these are some of the ones in here that I'll be making and you Stacy giving away in the giveaway I do have patches to each one of these comes with a patch whether you buy one whether you receive one in the giveaway whatever prize you win you'll get a patch with it I've also got them on my LK 35 as you've probably seen on the recent videos but with the feral rods I usually do two types I do a light Bridal tan with red stitch and I use red deer sometimes row but mostly red deer antler and you can see that I do a buffalo form one as well also in a dark chestnut leather and these have been treated with neat's-foot oil so you can take them out and use them in the rain and these ones get polished to a mirror finish but I try to retain some of the natural appearance of the antler like this one here this is one of the ones for the giveaway nice curved back to it that came out really well sometimes you just find one that looks perfect and you've got some really nice red stitching on there and it's come out really well the fair rods won't be the only thing I'll be giving away they'll be paired up with other things like full psyche it's as if you see me make recently lots of different Tinder's bow drill equipment so if you're interested in entering the giveaway one thing I would advise you do because YouTube have changed things recently you might not always get notifications when I put videos out and you might miss the giveaway so below this video there's a subscribe button next to it is a Bal icon if you click that and select to be notified you will get a notification on your mobile phone or even an email as soon as the giveaway video appears and for other videos to come out just helps you stay tuned with the channel one thing I noticed as I get loads of people saying to me where have you been you know why aren't you making videos anymore and often they'll say that when I've just put a video out there maybe a week ago and it's because YouTube changed something recently so subscribers actually don't get notified anymore when you make a video I'm not sure how that helps people like me and why they did it but that's just the way it is now YouTube's the forever changing environment and you have to keep up to date with it if you run a channel like I do so stay tuned got some really cool things coming up and I'll see you very very soon in another video okay guys that was the pheasant saying goodbye as well he's out of season so he's lucky I've got the air rifle with me today so I'm going to get that out and see what sir see what's around see seem [Music]
About the Author
MCQBushcraft
I'm a UK based outdoorsman who started hunting and fishing with my friends when I was young.
Educating yourself about your surroundings and having the core skills to sustain yourself using your environment is a lost curriculum in the United Kingdom. We are well provided for, so well that "why do anything if somebody else will do it for you". This lifestyle has drastically disconnected people from having the knowledge and skills required to spend even one night in the woods and not get hungry.
I love being outdoors and have never lost the desire to learn and practice skills that I get a sense of natural connection from. Hunting hangs controversy in the minds of many, but in my eyes there is nothing more natural if you choose to eat meat. I appreciate that not everybody hunts in moderation though.
Thanks for reading
