hey guys doing this William Myers mass outdoors and today we're going to be covering my spring/summer time loadout it's fine I don't care people working in the background chris is building a trap right now so that's what you're hearing a background right now but I wanted to show you guys what I bring with me my complete load out everything for three days in the woods in the springtime and summertime so don't go away alright so right now what we have is my haversack kit right here and I keep mostly like foods and stuff like that in here so let's go through the contents of that real quick alright so what we have now is the contents of my haversack to go through this haversacks from the hidden woodsman it's one of the best haversacks I've ever carried very durable and I beat the heck out of my equipment this is last so let's go through it see what it contains in the front pocket right here I always keep a pen this was given to me from chris from prepared by 101 it's you know one of those charade survival pins whatever it's a pen to me but at this time does have a little bit of extra add-ons into it you know it was given to me from a friend horsham would carry it and it's good it's useful always carry a writing pad something right on especially if I'm navigating through an area that I'm unsure of you know I always mark down my my my heading my intro hair heading that way I know if I what kind of you know a reverse azmuth I can have always mark down my turns yeah yeah yeah I've seen this isn't a navigational video always keep small pieces of cloth in here from anything from tool maintenance to just wipe in sweat from my body small role of one inch gorilla tape I like this velcro pouch right here you know everything is very secure I don't have any worries about anything coming apart but a very good role of number 36 bank line there's probably probably close to 50 sod feet in there look small but it's not a good compass in these side pockets here this is just something I don't know if this is going to stay on here or not you know there's just something I'm trying I keep my flex cut carving Jack and UCL cantilena with an extra candle just keeps it out of my pack but you know I don't know if this makes the pack kind of bulky I think I might take it off on the reverse side as I'm doing this I'm going to put the stuff back in here just kind of make clean up a little bit easier I've got a lot of stuff to pull out of here you know I build my haversacks so I can pretty much drop my main pack and only have my haversack with me when I actually want to navigate you know the hind fishing spots etc etc alright so the reverse side of this is my bottle kit I do like the fact that this is on the outside it's not in my pack which leaves room in my pack for food in my bottle kit I have a bottle hanger a little camp towel that Chris gave to me comes in handy little microfiber towel good for cleanup dishes things like that the lid to my pot my cup a dirty spoon I must have forgotten just shove it in there forgot to clean it and a fork so this is pretty much my eating and drinking kit
in the bottle kit itself on the top part I keep a 10 we keep a bunch of snare wire and a cake of beeswax for coating the wax or I'm sorry coating the snare wire in a winter time so they can remain functional and for other reasons that i carry beeswax as well and the bottle kit you know obviously it contains the canteen 32-ounce canteen and a cup you know I just did a video on my channel about the food that I bring so you know this is gonna be very redundant but i'll just come pulled out the food that i carry and here you just see it a link to that video will be at the end of this video but pretty much all that food that i showed in that video tax right up into this haversack and as always carried with me some of the other stuff i do carry in my main pack but I definitely have if not if anything were to happen I definitely have enough calories to make it for more than a couple days just buy some discipline alright so what I have here I always keep in the haversack it's just a satchel from the hidden woodsman I keep a ton of chaga in here I use chog on a daily basis medicinally I also use it as a fire starter alright so in the haversack you see actually inside of it there is a compartment right here that holds another little sack that Malcolm gave me that I always Thor a bunch of road up cordage in like a number nine bank line number 72 number 36 you know I always have plenty of cordage on me I don't really use paracord that much and unless it's like ridge lines and things like that for the most part I make do with bank line any paracord or other kurta jizz like major ropes and things like that I store in my main pack and then this sack which means i have another container to carry whatever I want in maybe if I need to gather up some things and stuff like that I can put them in this this could also act as a pillow you know etc etc the inside the sacks where keep most of the inner components to the haversack would be a fire kit which you know this sack is on my buddy Jamie burly gave to me holds all of my fire pit like you know fire 10 which contains lighters and stuff like that I've done a video on the contents of this fire kit before doing it was thinking I need to get into that right now just there's a fire kit in my haversack at all times this is cotton material and fat would a big roll of fat would start a million fires with that stuff and my Bacchus all always comes with me wherever I go if I don't have an axe I have a saw and I can do a lot of work with this I've modified this a little bit this back of this blade has
incredible 90 degree spine and I've made it so it's a little bit more user friendly with one hand so I can be holding something put the blade away or bring it out and it's not loose at all in there I mean it Wiggles a little bit but they do anyway but it's not incredibly loose I kind of found that happy medium between tight too tight to where you got up like winged us all out with two hands and loose to where you can just do it with one but the key to all this is packing your gear up and tetra see and in there so that you don't have to even look inside your pack you can just open your pack grab what you need because you know where it is and go so that's the haversack let's move on to the main pack if you're curious the entire contents of this pack and this bottle is full of water weighs roughly seven pounds alright guys so now on to the main pack and this pack has slowly become one of my favorite packs it is pretty much not my style usually but I've grown very fond of this pack extremely comfortable you know it's got lumbar support the straps are credibly comfortable and I'm going to be doing a video just on this pack alone but for this the contents of this pack it's got the remaining the remainder of my food like more like my main courses are up top here and quickly get these out and then other than that I put quarters up here like nylon webbing straps for like you know carrying game dragon game dragging large logs things like that these nylon webbing straps come in handy and you know building pack frames are ain't like out of this sort of tear rip and it became you know not useful for me I can make a Roy Krull 2pac frame with this webbing you know some ropes paracord for ridgelines more bigger ropes for things carrying dragging cetera et cetera now even though it is spring and summertime you can still become hypothermic at certain points in the night especially maybe if you're wet cold sweaty and then the chill the night comes on you cannot run into some dangers there so I always have a pad with me for comfort and for you know keep it in my core body temperature things like that you know it's a no-brainer guys really it's not heavy doesn't get in the way and it helps out a lot is inside a keep a secondary bottle all my tent pegs are in this bag this bag is also another container for collecting materials that I might need and then I always stop every other chris is messing with me out in the background I always mess how is Miss and components of my pack everything that is essential to me I always keep in a dry bag and here's my dry bag and this dry bag is very useful as well water collecting all kinds of stuff summertime you know I don't carry will blanket in the middle of the summer but i will keep like a poncho liner new be whatever you want to call it summer spring and summer that's hammock weather for me you know i like to hang a hammock my favorite hammock is a Hennessy
I have a secondary bag this is my mule team pack frame or my mule team pack bag it's got all kinds of stuff on it and nine times out of ten this will actually I'll throw my clothes in it or something like that if I'm wearing extra clothes and our carrying extra clothes I'll throw them in here and you know nine times out of ten this will actually act as a pillow for me be honest with you then I keep an eight by eight ten Smith canvas tarp that goes over the hammock I don't use the tarps that they sell and then my mess kit my main cooking kit which pertains a little bit more than just cooking this is the the bag that was made specifically for this by Malcolm I keep a roll of number nine bank line in here bottle of olive oil for tool maintenance and cooking nice big role of gorilla tape and my cook pot this thing is seen a lot of the woods as you can see Chris gave me these power pack vitamin c e packs I keep them in here just in case I need o keep some pads of steel wool in here and then this is my main the stuff that I mainly cook with well if I got a little bit more cordage and stuff in here keep some bullion cubes some more cordage for tripods there's a cake of fixing wax I always keep two percent tincture of iodine with me that's for medical and disinfecting water if I need to and then I have an array of different spices from old bay to garlic salt pepper all kinds of stuff in here cayenne pepper for you know cuts and wounds and then I have a tallow candle right here for at night and you know inside my tent or my shelter what have you on a burning candle there you go alright so on this pack on the outside I don't go anywhere without an axe I need to kind of fix that and he's tightened up but I always have my axe with me I keep in sa wetterling's fine forest the cool thing about this is the the MOLLE webbing that's on the side the the same company that makes this main pack makes these like leg back Chris Tanner's done videos on them in the past and they're really convenient to have on the outside for things that you don't want to be grabbing in the middle of the night or what have you don't want to dump your pack off and go route through the actual pack itself you just stick this on the side got mine on are now and I keep a through nine th-10 I'm actually going to do a video on this light because i like it so much i'm not really partial to doing flashlight videos but i like this headlamp enough that i'm going to do an actual video on I went bull frog hunting with that light that was amazing and then just to finish out the video on the hip pack right here there's also MOLLE webbing too so even when the pack is on all I have to do is reach over and I can grab either my flashlight if it's not a headlamp you know just something I quickly want to look at and some cotton material just for sweat getting wet and put it on my body just to cool myself down
so here you go here's that main pack on my back extremely comfortable pack I really like this pack i'm going to do i'm also going to do a video on this pack too just because i'm very impressed with it but alright guys let's go away myra smith outdoors i hope you enjoyed this video if you did there's some more of my previous videos that are playing in the screens to my left right now there's also a subscribe button over there if you haven't done so i'll appreciate if you subscribe to the channel to stay up to date with what I'm doing with my school and the youtube channel stay posted on the videos that are going to be uploaded you can go to WWF a spook calm for / manis outdoors or you can go to ww mas outdoors LLC com like in my videos helps me and my channel out a lot i appreciate are your views comments and support and hopefully we'll see out the woods
