hey guys it's Darwin here with a full gear review of the Black Diamond Alpine Peugeot cork carbon trekking poles man that's a lot of stuff to say [Music]

okay so after the Appalachian Trail in 2016 I had completely annihilated my komperdell trekking poles so obviously I needed to replace them so I decided to pick these guys up which are the Black Diamond Alpine ergo cork carbon trekking poles that is a huge title for a product just putting that out there so I really really really love these guys recently I went out and hiked a section of the Continental Divide Trail to really put them to the test for the first time I've been super pleased with them so first off the alkynes come in at 18 ounces for the pair which is pretty good

both the mid and the lower section of the trekking pole are made of carbon and then the upper is actually made of aluminum so they're not a hundred percent carbon but still most of its carbon and pretty light both poles have a dual flick lock design and I really love the flick locks I kind of swore off barrel locks a long time ago just because they tend to break a lot and they don't typically close as well as flip locks do probably the best feature of the trekking pole as it has this organ AMA chol 15 degree cork grip which really puts your wrist in a nice position and make sure that you're not stressing out your wrist some people that have carpal tunnel or any problems with their hands or wrists would really really really going to like that and I feel like it takes a lot of pressure off when I am descending and then a really nice big padded wrist strap that doesn't dig in like some of the classic webbing straps do now not only do I use these guys as my trekking poles but because I do have a trekking pole tent I do use them as my tent poles and they've been working really well for that and then I also use them as my tripod whenever I attach my camera on the end so I can get wide-angle shots so not only a good trekking pole but also a good multipurpose piece of gear you can find these guys over on Amazon for up to $160 which is a little pricey compared to some trekking poles but with all the features totally worth it I'll put a link in the description box below if you guys want to go check those out for yourself if you haven't got a chance yet go over and check me out on Instagram I'm posting a lot of new photos lately of some of the things that snuggles and I have going on throughout the week plus some pictures of some other products I'll be reviewing in the future so go check those out if you found any value in this video go ahead and hit that like button subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and as always guys thanks for watching [Music]

At the end of 2014 my wife Snuggles & I decided to quit our jobs, sell 95% of the things we own, & leave our home town for good in search of adventure, culture, & the true meaning of happiness. We bought a van, traveled all over the country & hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (2189.2 miles). We are still seeking adventure in new places, meeting new people, trying new food & drink, & discovering all that we can.

This Channel has developed into a main hub for aspiring hikers & current hikers to gain info on a wide variety of Trail Topics. With a series of Trip Videos, Q&A, Tip Videos, & Gear Reviews, I aim to get you out on the trail and hiking more!

Hike On,
Darwin
