how's it going guys it's darling so this one err snuggles and I decided that we were gonna do something a little different we're gonna get into some light mountaineering a little bit of snowshoeing and possibly some ice climbing so between that and me trying to look for a new day pack to be able to just take out throw on to carry some water and a couple snacks I was kind of searching for a new pack when I found this guy I knew it was gonna be perfect this is Ben Osprey mutant 28 so Osprey designed this pack to be a mountaineering and ice climbing pack so some of the features on it are gonna be some nice ice axe hooks nice gear loops all around the tack they put an a-frame suspension system in there that actually allows you to not only compress the pack but to carry skis on either side and since it is an ice climbing effect they put in this awesome compression system up there that allows you to put your rope on top and press that and then to put your helmet on top of that and compress that so you can carry both your rope and your helmet on top with your ice axes and even your skis now the pack comes in at 2 pounds 2 ounces and it comes in a small/medium in a medium/large

this guy's the medium/large and this is the one that's two pound 2 ounces now another great thing about this pack is they kind of set it up to be kind of like a day pack which is why I chose it it has the nice Osprey patented air skate back which actually brings the pack off your back and allows air to come up and let your back breathe they put in a little bit of a padded hip belt here and they put hookups for a hydration bladder and hydration system so with all that being said let's dive into the pack and some of the features on them

so first up you have this nice pocket up here in the brain where you can store some extra goodies lighter sunglasses anything that you need to get to pretty quick and then you have the top blow main compartment now again it's a 28 litre pack and they do make a 38 litre pack I decided to go with a little bit smaller because I was gonna use it as a day pack so it flips open just like this and you can start stuffing stuff right down in there in the back here you have the hydration bladder pocket put the nice little hook work to hold and then right here in the bottom arm the inside of the lid you have a nice zipper mesh pocket to keep a handful of other little odds and ends that you might need while you're out hiking so yeah a rubber glove off sprays packs I've owned a lot of them now and this guy is no exception again it's the Osprey mutant 28 check them out if you liked my video leave me some comments some questions like or dislike my video subscribe to my channel if you really do like it

and as always thanks for watching guys

At the end of 2014 my wife Snuggles & I decided to quit our jobs, sell 95% of the things we own, & leave our home town for good in search of adventure, culture, & the true meaning of happiness. We bought a van, traveled all over the country & hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (2189.2 miles). We are still seeking adventure in new places, meeting new people, trying new food & drink, & discovering all that we can.

This Channel has developed into a main hub for aspiring hikers & current hikers to gain info on a wide variety of Trail Topics. With a series of Trip Videos, Q&A, Tip Videos, & Gear Reviews, I aim to get you out on the trail and hiking more!
