hi there Paul currently here author of poker at Lee's blog and founder of frontier bushcraft welcome to my quick tip series in this one I'm going to show you how to cut a green sapling very quickly very efficiently just using a knife it's something we might otherwise use a saw for but if we don't have a saw this is how we go about it so what I need to do is bend the sapling so that the fibers are under tension and that allows me to cut through more easy so you can see I'm bending here this is under tension and take my knife and then it's just straight through like so so as you can see nice clean cut there because those fibers are under tension it allows me to go straight through none of that raggy hacking away it's it's quicker it's more efficient and it leaves a cleaner cut when you've finished and less to clean up here so that's the quick tip for today hope that's useful too hope it serves you well and I look forward to seeing you on the next in the quick tip series thanks
