Winter Forest Camping & Fire Making
Description
In this video I go out and spend a night in a forest not far away from where I live. I make a small shelter and explain a few things about how I make my campfire. There is also a little campfire story in this one :)

hello there and welcome to the week's new extreme
I am offered an overnight there and actually getting a little bit too late in the afternoon I'm losing a lot of the light so I have to keep moving to put up my camp before it gets dark I actually brought with me a little bit different different gift than I usually bring for the conflict
I forgive me so and I left my ax boom got a little bit not a knife in touch and I'm really not used to so it interesting to try out have a bit of this is my sleeping system I have by the way during the night I keep my clothes inside this dry bag I find that to be a quite convenient I have my gore-tex baby nice and inflatable sleeping up go with me a piece of this come a poncho want to make a little roof the way I want to pick up this this karmic poncho is to use two small logs to support the front of it and I'd put a piece of paracord from the top of this and entice three I'll show you in a minute my little plan for this setup something I open up near but I haven't seen it before the idea is to make a shelter with an open front and nothing to block the opening usually when I make this this kind of lean to shelters it's it is this line or pole in front of the photo opening and I want to try to make this little bit better access in the front of my my sectors I don't need that much of a shelter but the forecasts say that it calls to be a little bit a little bit of a snow tonight so probably good to have something to protect me from the element that's been bit I like this I think my but of course I'd run this tree I probably need to adjust this quite a bit when I put up the kind of kind of function of restarting this is where whatever thinking then I had this the end of the on the paracord
that's coming from the tree before it's connected to the tree and it's tying these two together and this is the top my phone so just try to tie this off I don't know exactly how high I need to make this but figure out maybe a little bit higher and what I remember from the last time I use this use this as a tent I also have some in tent pegs that came with the poncho tempt I guess probably just make this but I had them at home put them in my pack
then I just need to put some air into my muscles inside the baby bag and open up my my sleeping bag I didn't show you when I took out from the from the backpack but of course I have a sleeping bag good one and it needs a little bit of time before I go to bed so it can get some air inside to keep me warm during the night then I have managed to finish my little bin shelter and put up a small candle lantern I really like the same thing but my next products for the night is to gather some some firewood and make a small camper that wasn't too bad I really have not much experience with this this kind of wood splitting used by just bring my axes and I think that's it with less working but this really isn't too bad at all this big gamma knife this Bush bush knife or what they called it is if doing your job with this with this wood pieces [Applause]
usually when I'm making a face like this I tried to find some compute spark but for some strange reason there's no books trees around here I don't think that I I would have to walk very far to reach them but then it's it's a good possibility that I won't find my way back to my cunt that's something I really really don't want to do so I try to make some some shavings this doesn't feel exactly super dry but I suspect that that's not a resin in this it's from the dead then the pine tree that is peaceful for firewood I'll just make some pieces that that has a little bit of ice so that I don't burn up mm if you make this really fine fire sticks from a super dry tree tree like like spruce or something like that then I guess it's it's a big jump that it burns really really quick before it it likes all this not stupid rice but pretty dry twig from Athens pastry let's see if this it's not such good but it's it's dead dead point and that's always a good and good thing to try look that didn't work too good so then I just tried some of this this is a spruce and it's a lot drier it's like it try to split down this a little bit see if I can make a little bit finer shaving it slowly looks like that I don't want to cut myself I can try same strategy different kind of wood it's not always easy to get this fire started at least when it's welded like this it's just about freezing temperature zero degrees Celsius it has 32 degrees foil right so everything is pretty wet and I don't have birch bark available I don't have fat wood available I just have some fairly dry sticks and if I can make this catch I think the fire will keep going I hope it's not much to to blow on because it's not much close yet and it calls before it's and they use of growing into the into the fire it's really small small flames just go out on the border I made this kind of a fire many times so it's just keep going maybe make some more shavings it's it's no tricked it it's just to keep keep going it's important not to squash it and it's important also to have enough fuel above the above the flame
all right the heat just escapes truth and don't contribute to make all the other piece of scratch you need to have something jumping on top and this is quite wet on outside it's more please and it's really dry on the inside just another thing to do is to put the knife in the sheath there's no reason not to do that yep looks like I have a turn for this one I see now that the flames are coming through coming through on this side of the pit and then get my things not too much just a little bit so nice actually the flames and do a bit of work in the beginning it makes a lot of smoke but it's drawing out the outside of this little flake son and keep the fire going see the flames are coming to again see see the fire a little bit more they'll be larger some of these wings up kid is going a bit better stop smoking that's okay
I had this split down really dry various pieces that I want to just on top of this then twin fire make a little teepee out of this whole thing is to get enough air flow through the through the pieces now there's a little bit of Oh cold this should catch fire no problem
let us look at my event fire is building up of course that's good because starting to get hungry I need a little bit of cold to cook my food but I was walking in this earlier today I saw a lot of evidence for wild boar activity and this one boy is pretty new species from for this area's market n years ago we didn't have any at all now there's growing pig populations in it's in this woods and what I've been sitting here and waiting for my calls to be docked
I've heard some some pig noises and a little distance from me I don't think I can pick them up with a microphone on the camera but they are for sure here I would like to share a little story with you it was about an experience I had many years ago I was I was out walking in in actually in this part of the of the woods together with a friend of mine and we came up on this thing he took above this in valley and we saw this big bowl of life down in the valley was hovering was the really white in the color and maybe like three or four meters in diameter and it was moving away from us up against the hill on the other side of the same Valley and suddenly just disappeared it scared of splitting it and I've been thinking about that experience many many times since that had happened and I was actually trying to find that spot before I decided to put up my camp here so I don't think it's more than a couple of hundred meters from this spot but in the area where no it is it's been it's been logging and it's been planted and the planted has grown for I don't know 25 years so it actually got tangled in the trees of just small bushes land anymore and there's been some more logging so it's really hard to find that exact spot but yeah
it's not for summation if any of you have had any strange experiences while you've been out in the woods and you want to share it it's it will be really cool if you can just write a little comments underneath this video and and say what you what you have experienced that could be some interesting reading maybe
good morning I have had a decent night's sleep
the the fire has been giving off a lot of smoke all kind of firewood really damp out Fausto not burning or vectored yeah money to make some dinner try some sausages last night now I'm about to make some breakfast I want to make some oatmeal I mixed all the ingredients in a little plastic bag at home I want to make a porridge I think that we're good breakfast inside this little bag I have some oatmeal and a little bit of salt and some sugar cinnamon and a little bit of butter usually when I make it at home I don't mix it all at once but I thought it could be convenient to do it like this Ultima afternoon it's boiling hope I don't burn it I think just five minutes and it would be perfect breakfast so then I have packed up my camp put everything into my backpack without my fire and the only thing left for me to do is to say goodbye to you and hike back home though thank you for now and see you on the next one you
